The best workaround I found was to add a page anywhere within a chapter by holding control and clicking on the spot you want in the left navigation. Apple iBooks Author is an e-book authoring application designed for book authors and publishers. Which is fine if that’s what you want to do, but less convenient if (as I inevitably did) you suddenly want to add a new photo bang in the middle of the pages you’ve already created. Using the ‘add page’ option in the menu bar automatically puts the new page at the end of the chapter.

I believe this is because the software assumes that text will flow on from one page to the next, but for me this was not the case and it made my job harder. Apple Books (formerly known as iBooks between January 2010 and September 2018) is an e-book reading and store application by Apple Inc. Using that panel down the left, you can drag and drop chapters to re-order them, but you can’t change the sequence of individual pages. One big drawback, for my purposes, was that you can’t re-order pages. First, if you want to charge for an e-book, then copyright issues abound. The names of the authors that typically appear on the spine of a physical book need to be listed as Primary. Common reasons for correction or rejection are: 2.1. You reformat text – font, size, colour etc – in the same way as you would in Word (though there aren’t always as many options: my chosen font didn’t support bold or italics, for example). Apple gives some warnings, mentioned before, that need to be reiterated. You can include authors who aren’t Primary, but they won’t be visible on Apple Books. Again, I just dragged them to wherever I wanted them. As for the text, I either typed into the placeholder text box or added boxes using the menu at the top. In order to publish your book to Apple Books, you need an active Free or Paid Books Agreement.
